Orville Lee Livingston
Orville Lee Livingston, 77, of Platte City, MO passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at his home.
Orville Lee Livingston was born on July 19, 1930 in a small community north of Plattsburg, Missouri to Orville Ray and Edith M. (Bridges) Livingston. Orville R. and Edith M. were blessed with another child, Jack W. Livingston who now lives East of Gower, Mo with his wife, Evelyn.
Orville Lee and Bonnie Jean (Pulliam) Livingston were united in marriage on February 13, 1953 and recently celebrated their 54th Wedding Anniversary. Bonnie is the daughter of F.M. and Marguerite (West) Pulliam of Trimble, MO. They moved to Edgerton, MO. and have been residents of Platte County since that time. Orville L. and Bonnie J. have two children, Dianna Lee, and Michael Kent. Dianna Lee (Livingston) Cassidy and her husband Charles P. Cassidy live in Platte City, MO along with their son Charles Maxwell Cassidy. Mike moved to Colorado in 1982 and is married to Leanne (Schaefer). They live in Arvada, CO and have two children, Aaron Michael and Lindsie Marie Livingston. Orville and Bonnie also have a grandson, Chris Dunn, who has a daughter, Brooklyn Dunn.
In his “spare” time, Orville completed a lifelong ambition to earn his pilot’s license. He completed this goal by earning his private pilot’s license, commercial and multi-engine license. He flew many hours as both a private pilot and charter pilot, earning over 800 hours as a pilot in command. His health curtailed his flying but he still enjoyed occasional rides with an instructor along for safety purposes.
Orville Lee and Bonnie Jean belong to the First Baptist Church in Platte City.
Orville belonged to many organizations including: Adelphi Lodge #355 (50 year member), Platte City Lodge #504, Adelphi Chapter O.E.S. (50 year member), Daisy Chapter #86 (50 year member), Kansas City Valley of the Scottish Rite, Chapter, Council and Commandry of the York Rite, Order of the Silver Trowel in Kansas, Red Cross of Constantine in Kansas, Order of the Amaranth in North Kansas City, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem in Kansas City, Molia Shrine in St Joseph, MO, Edward D. Carpenter York Rite College in St. Joseph, MO, High-12 club in St Joseph, Royal Order of Scotland, and the Harry S Truman Chapter # 152 of National Sojourners,Inc.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24th at First Baptist Church of Platte City.
Burial: Ridgely Cemetery.
Masonic Service: 6:30 p.m. Friday at the church with visitation following until 8:30 p.m.
Donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Platte City, Diabetes Research, Dream Factory or North Care Hospice.
