Opal Fern (Horn) Donahue

 

Opal Fern (Horn) Donahue, 102, of Gower, MO, formerly of Grayson, MO, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the Gower Convalescent Center.

She was born on May 21, 1908 to Albert and Della Mae (Boswell) Horn in Lathrop, MO. Opal grew up and attended school in Gower.

On August 7, 1929 she was united in marriage to Ray Donahue. After their marriage they lived in Grayson where they made their home. Her husband, Ray passed away December 31, 1958.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gower. Opal loved gardening, cooking and canning.

Opal was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Perry, Charles and Bill Horn; and sisters, Rose and Emma Delaney.

She is survived by nieces, Ruthanna Ezzell, Patricia Madison and Dorothy Holmes; nephews, J.W. Horn and Danny Delaney, great-niece, Sharon Curren; special friends, Jim and Mary Lou Snyder, Cindy Crouse and Kenny Snyder, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 1st at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial: Grayson Cemetery
