Oma Jo (Justus) Dale

Oma Jo Dale, 77, of Smithville, MO passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at the Gower Convalescent Center.

She was born on March 30, 1930 to Oma and Jesse Easter (Shackelford) Justus in Trimble, MO, where she grew up and graduated from Plattsburg High School.

On December 8, 1951 she was united in marriage to Donald Jackson Dale. After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home until they retired and moved to Versailles, MO. Don passed away on July 31, 1999 and Jo returned to Smithville.

Jo worked for Dr. John Dernoncourt at the Spelman Hospital Medical Clinic where she retired after more than 20 years of service.

She was a member of the Smithville Christian Church. Jo enjoyed spending time with her friends at the lake and was an avid Chiefs and Royals fan. She especially loved being with her children and grandchildren.

Jo was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ivan “Pinky” Justus and Marion Justus.

She is survived by two sons, Mike Dale and wife, Marcia and Gary Dale, all of Smithville; two grandchildren, Erica and Andrew; one sister, Margaret Vaughn, El Cajon, CA; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 22^nd at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Burial: Allen Cemetery, Gower, MO
