Norma Marie (Shirley) Barton

Norma Marie Barton, 80, of Easton, MO passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011.

She was born on November 25, 1930 to William Glenn and Rose Zelma (Gallatin) Shirley in Mercer County where she grew up and attended Princeton High School.

Norma was a member of the United Methodist Faith. She was a homemaker and also worked as a cook and waitress in Cedar Rapids, IA, the WT Grant Lunchenette in St. Joseph, MO and the Vault in Easton, MO.

On September 25, 1947 she was united in marriage to Quenton Penrod in Princeton, MO. They were divorced. On February 7, 1962 she was united in marriage to Larry Dean Barton. After their marriage they lived in St. Joseph and in 1969 they moved to Easton where they made their home. Her husband, Larry, passed away, April 6, 2005.

She also was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Margaret Moore and an infant brother, Glenn Shirley.

Norma is survived by her two sons, Kenneth Penrod, Atchison, KS and Randy Barton and wife Debbie, Gower, MO; daughter, Tammy Smith and husband Philip, Easton, MO; seven grandchildren, Brandy, Larry, Audrey, Haley, Macy, James, and Milia; three great-grandchildren, Violet, Kaylee and Harley; brother Albert Shirley, St. Joseph, MO; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday August 27^th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower

Burial: Blakely Cemetery, Easton, MO

Visitation: 7:00-8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
