Norma Jean Brood
Norma Jean Brood, 72, of Smithville, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007.
She was born on February 14, 1935 to Leo Roy and Mamie Ellen (Teeple) Thomas in rural Platte County where she grew up and graduated from high school.
On July 21, 1980 she was united in marriage to Lloyd Leroy “Lee” Brood. After their marriage they lived in the Kansas City area until 1991 when they moved to Smithville where they made their home. Her husband, Lee, passed away November 7, 1997.
Norma worked for National Bellas Hess and K-Mart both in North Kansas City.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two half brothers, Vincil Lewis and Basil Lewis.
She is survived by her brother, James Thomas, Lake Pomme De Terre, MO; sisters, Eileen Bennett, Gladstone, MO, and Julia James, Kearney, MO; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside Service and Burial: 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 16th at Reed Cemetery, Trimble, MO.
