NORMA C. COSSINS
1933-2006

Funeral Service for Norma Cossins, 73, who died at her home in Trimble, MO on June 2, 2006 will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Gower. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Davis Chapel Cemetery.

Norma Cossins, daughter of Lt. Colonel Burness and Virginia Coffman was born in Nevada, MO. After graduating from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1954, she obtained her B.A. from Ottawa University in 1977 and her M.S. in Education from the University of Kansas in 1983. A highly regarded, dedicated and compassionate R.N., she retired from her position as director of nursing in 1996. She was a life-long Presbyterian.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Cossins and wife, Deb, of Trimble and Patrick Cossins and wife, Liz, of Austin, TX; two grandsons, Rusty Cossins of Trimble and Paul Pitts of Plattsburg, her brother, Colonel Richard Coffman (retired) of Williamsburg, VA.

Norma Cossins, loving mother, sister and friend, was truly a unique spirit who enriched the lives of all those fortunate enough to know her. She passed too soon.
