Ninetta E. (Wickstrom) Callaway

Ninetta E. Callaway, 92 of Smithville, MO, passed away, Thursday, July 12, 2012.

She was born on September 6, 1919 to Ernest and Dora (Mills) Wickstrom in Highland, Kansas. She grew up in Liberty, MO and the Orrick, MO area and attended school in Sparks, KS and Liberty, MO.

On February 7, 1938 she was united in marriage to Herbert Joseph Callaway. He preceded her in death on September 18, 1977. To this union two children Bob and Janice were born.

Ninetta was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Smithville. She worked at two local grocery stores and then went to work at Spelman Hospital as a CNA .

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, She will remain in the hearts and thoughts of all those who knew her, especially her “Senior Dancing Friends.”

She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Paul Wickstrom and sister, Treva Hunt.

Ninetta is survived by two children Robert Dean Callaway and wife Carol, and Janice Lorene Callaway Hoskins; six grandchildren, Paul Callaway and wife Kathy, Kevin Hoskins and wife Marlene, Amy Reidhead and husband Chad, Beth Maynor and husband Mat, Kris Hoskins and fiance Cynthia, Cari Shouman and husband Ramsey; eleven great-grandchildren, Mariah, Sage, Megan, Kegan, Ellie, McKayla, Cierra, Jenna, Devin, Jentry, and Cameron; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 15^th at the First Baptist Church in Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial: Smithville Memorial Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church or NorthCare Hospice.
