Nina M. Hohimer

Nina M. Hohimer, 91 of Riverside, MO passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016.

She was born on September 25, 1924 to Alfred Payton and Gladys May (Hoxsie) Wright in Hale, MO where she grew up and attended school.

On February 24, 1940 she was united in marriage to Glen E. Hohimer.  After their marriage they lived in Carroll County, Chariton County and later settled in Riverside, MO where they made their home.  Her husband Glen passed away on July 30, 1984.

Nina was a member of the AARP, served as treasurer for Platte County Senior Citizens and OATS. She was volunteer of the year several times at the Platte County Senior Citizens.

Nina was a crafter and enjoyed making quilts to be donated.  She was always volunteering and helping other people. Nina served on the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Riverside.

Nina was also preceded in death by her parents and one daughter Carolyn Hohimer; sons-in-law David Mynatt and Kevin Benskin.

She is survived by her children Gary (Jean) Hohimer, Larry (Mary) Hohimer, Glenda Mynatt, Diann (Steve) Harralson, Connie (John) Laterra, Rita Benskin, and Ron (Syndi) Hohimer; grandchildren Gary Jr., Richard, Sheryl, Shawn, Eddy, David, LaDona, Melaney, Erika, Angie, Beth, Erik, Charity, Nina, Steve, and Debbie; twenty-six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth (Norris) Hensley and Lucy Drury; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial:  Lakeside Cemetery, Sumner, MO.
