Nellie Mae (Baber) Coffey

Nellie Mae Coffey, 96, of Camden Point, MO passed away, Wednesday, May 1, 2013.

She was born on July 6, 1916 to Jesse Edwards and Ruth Elizabeth (Kimsey) Baber in Platte County Missouri where she grew up.  In 1934 she graduated from Camden Point High School.

On July 3, 1937 she was united in marriage to C.B. Coffey.  After their marriage they lived in Platte County, moving to Camden Point in 1946, where they made their home.  Her husband, C.B. passed away December 30, 2009.

Nellie was employed at the Camden Point Post Office for 40 years and retired as Postmaster in 1992.  She was a member of the Camden Point Baptist Church and the National Association of Postmasters of the US. 

 

Nellie was also preceded in death by her brother, Clifford Baber, and daughter Virginia M. Perkins.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Donald Perkins, Camden Point; grandson, Neal Perkins, Trimble, MO; granddaughter, Nelda Rathert and husband Bill, Nortonville, KS; great-grandchildren, Adam Rathert and wife Leslie, Derek Rathert and wife Jamie,  and Cynthia Jenkins and husband Tim; five great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, John Coffey; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services:  11:00 a.m. Saturday May 4th at the Camden Point Baptist Church with visitatoin from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Burial:  Camden Point Cemetery
