Nadine (Smith) Childers

Nadine Childers, 89, of Gower, MO passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013.

 

She was born on January 30, 1924 to Herbert Price and Corrine Pence (St. John) Smith in Frazier, MO. 

 

On May 3, 1942 she was united in marriage to Carl W Childers in St. Joseph.  Nadine traveled with her husband, Carl, while he was serving his country. In 1945 they moved to Kansas City where she worked seventeen years with Hallmark Cards as a supervisor.  In 1978 they moved to Gower where they made their home.  Her husband, Carl, passed away on August 28, 1996.

 

Nadine was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gower.

 

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers W.A. Smith and Dwain “Buck” Smith; and sister, Frances Snyder.

 

Nadine is survived by her nephew, Jim Snyder and wife Mary Lou, Bill Smith, Richard Smith and wife Mona, and Bob Smith and wife Judy; nieces, Janet Umphress, Jennifer Dennis and husband Charles, and Dianne Smith, sister-in-law, Lora Dean Smith; other relatives and many friends.

 

Funeral Service:  11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 24^th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial:  Allen Cemetery, Gower, MO.
