Murrel E. Hensley

Murrel E. Hensley, 89 of Kansas City, MO passed away, Wednesday, September 24, 2014.

 

He was born on May 5, 1925 to James O. and Lottie (Stark) Hensley near Hartshorn, MO where he grew up and attended school.

 

On July 15, 1946 he was united in marriage to Nellie Calton of Barnett, MO.  After their marriage they lived in Kansas City, MO.  To this union two children were born, Don and Elaine.

 

Murrel retired after many years from TWA as a mechanic.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters, and one grandson.

 

Murrel and Nellie attended Mt. Olivet Christian Church near their home for over 40 years.

 

He is survived by his wife of 68 years Nellie Hensley; children, Don Hensley of Maderia Beach, Florida and Elaine Richel of McCune, Kansas and several grandchildren including, Michelle and Debbie; two sisters, Kathy and Opal; and one brother Junior Hensley.

 

Visitation:  2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Mt. Olivet Christian Church, Smithville.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kansas City Hospice House.
