Minnie Elizabeth (Grable) Coffey
Minnie Elizabeth Coffey, 97, of Hemple, Mo., passed away, Sunday, February 24, 2008.
She was born on November 23, 1910 to Luther Stanley and Rosa Lee (Campbell) Grable near Wathena, Kansas where she attended school.
On February 22, 1930 she was united in marriage to Golmer Lee “Pete” Coffey. After their marriage they farmed near Hemple where they made their home. Her husband, Pete, preceded her in death on November 9, 1983.
As an adventurous young girl, Minnie rode in an airplane and loved to dance the Charleston. Most of all Minnie loved. She was a good daughter, sister, wife and mother.
She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Hemple where she was a member of Ladies Aid. She was also a member of Hemple Homemakers Club.
Minnie was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Hubert Grable and one sister, Hannah Maude Miller.
She is survived by her daughters, Doris Lee Kerns and Gloria Jean Blakely, both of Hemple; grandchildren, Debbie and Steve Silvius, Cathy and Warren Karasch, Jim and Susan Kerns, Gary and Cindy Blakely, Darren and Michelle Blakely, and Kurt and Tammy Blakely; great-grandchildren, Brett, Brad, Jordan, MacKenzie, Matt, Jenna, Matthew and LaDonna, Angie, Brian, Denise and Rob, Jeff, Jarren, Clarissa, Callen, Cooper; and great-great-grandchildren, Landen and Valerie, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 27th at Freeman Chapel Church, Easton, MO.
Burial: Freeman Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
