Milton “Mickey” Shanks

Milton G. “Mickey” Shanks, 83, of Platte City, MO passed away, Wednesday, December 5, 2018.

He was born on March 1, 1935 to Howe and Lydia (Hensley) Shanks in Dearborn, MO. Mickey grew up in Dearborn where he attended school. He then served his country in the U.S. Army.

On March 2, 1957 he was united in marriage to Joyce Lee Reinosky. After their marriage they lived in Platte county where they made their home.Mickey worked for KC Abrasives for 27 years. 

 He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and took pride in keeping his yard pristine. Mickey loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He attended the Camden Point Baptist Church. 

Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Junior “Junebug” Shanks, J.W. Shanks, and Billy Richard “Red” Shanks; sisters, Mary Ellen Masoner, Lena May McHone, Lettie McCoy, Beatrice “Babe” Couldry; daughter, Lisa F. (Shanks) Jones, and his son, Dennis M. Shanks.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of the home; son, Randy Shanks and wife Mary Ellen; grandchildren, Megan Jones, Heather (Brad) Wilkie, Jordan (Ben) Keefhaver, Kyle (Amy) Shanks, Justin Shanks, Grant Shanks, Michael Shanks; great-grandchildren, Vivian, Eleanor, Lennon, Dylan, Isabelle, Lily, and Rylan; brother, Howard Masoner Shanks; sisters, Edna Salkowski, Janet Lee Perkins and Marjorie Mundt; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Service: 3:30 p.m. Saturday, December 8th at Camden Point Baptist Church, Camden Point, MO with visitation from 2:00-3:30 p.m. prior to the service.Private Family 

Inurnment: Camden Point Cemetery

Arrangements, Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.

    I will never forget the many trips to see and aunt joyce…playing outside, picking cherries off the cherry tree out back..you and dad could visit n talk for hours…Tell mom n dad i love them and I hope u watch over us all.
