Mildred Valee (Kimmel) Rhoades

 

Mildred
Valee Rhoades, 94, of Smithville, MO passed away June 22, 2015.

 

She
was born on December 18, 1920 to Warden S. and Winnie B. (Hurley) Kimmel in
rural Putman County, Missouri where she grew up and attended school.

 

In
1943 she was united in marriage to Herbert E. Rhoades.  After their marriage they lived in various Missouri
towns and settled in Kirksville, MO where they made their home.  In 1979 her husband Herbert passed away.  In July 2007 Mildred moved to Smithville to
be with her daughter.

 

She
was a member of the Church of Christ. 
Mildred enjoyed reading her bible and being with her family.

 

Mildred
was also preceded in death by her parents, sister Louise Sparks and brother
Keith Kimmel.

 

She
is survived by her children Debra Schorr and husband Dan, Barbara Wilcox and
husband Steve and Richard Rhoades; grandchildren, Kelly Pilgrim and husband
Terry, Mike Schorr and wife Liz, Brandi Olson and husband Tyler, Paul Wilcox,
Ian Wilcox, Asher Wilcox and Andrea Rhoades; eight great-grandchildren, two
great-great-grandchildren; brother Junior Kimmel; several nieces and nephews,
other relatives and many friends. 

 

Memorial
Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27^th with visitation from
12:00-1:00 p.m. prior to the service Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville
