Mike McDowell
Mike McDowell, 57, of Maryville, MO formerly of Gower and St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at his home.
He was born on March 20, 1959 to Lloyd Edward McDowell, Sr. and Alberta (DePung) McDowell in Kansas City, MO. Mike grew up in Gower and in 1977 graduated from East Buchanan High School.
Mike worked for Sprint Lumber, Globe Union (Johnson Control) and Spirit Miller Trucking all in St. Joseph. Mike enjoyed playing drums for several bands in the area and most of all with Jack Klein and the Missouri Rebels. Mike loved being around and visiting with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Johnnie.
Mike is survived by his children and grandchildren; brothers and sisters Marilyn Bennett, Lloyd “Ed” McDowell and wife Sue, Linda Lyons and husband Eugene, Tim McDowell, Bill McDowell and Donna McDowell; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Memorial Service: 6:30 p.m. Thursday January 12th with visitation following until 8:30 p.m. at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower

So sorry to learn of Mike's passing. So many great memories of great times when we were young classmates and friends. Although it has been a long time since I last saw Mike I know he was a good person that will be missed by all that knew him.
