Melvin Lee Reynolds

Melvin Lee Reynolds, 86, of Gower, MO passed away, Monday, February 8, 2016.

He was born on December 19, 1929 to Robert Elmer and Effie (Roberts) Reynolds near Gower, MO.  Melvin grew up in Gower and graduated from Gower High School in 1949.

On March 30, 1950 he was united in marriage to Beverly J. Boswell.  After their marriage they lived in the Gower community.  His wife, Beverly, passed away December 18, 2001.  On January 4, 2003 he married Ronda Graves.  After their marriage they lived in rural Gower, where they made their home.

Melvin worked for Ford Motor Company for 30 years.  After his retirement he drove school bus for the East Buchanan School District for 20 years.  Melvin broke horses his whole life, beyond his 86th birthday.  He attended the Gower Goodtimers, where he played guitar, mandolin and harmonica.  He was also a member of the Gower Old-timers Baseball Hall of Fame.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, great-granddaughter, Ameriee Reynolds; sisters, Viola Reeves, Berniece Musser, Melba Sellars, Ruby Allen, and Margaret Hyatt,

Melvin is survived by his wife, Ronda, of the home; daughter, Sharon Barnett; sons, Gary Reynolds and Rick Reynolds; step-daughters, Katherine Graves and Jackquelin Puff; step-son, John Graves; five grandchildren, Lisa,Jenara, Hollee, Corbin, and Garon; step-granddaughter, Elizabeth Graves; many great-grandchildren, including Sadie and Melody Bottorff; brothers, Jewell Reynolds and Harold Reynolds; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m.  Friday, February 12th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.

Burial:  Allen Cemetery

Visitation:  6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to the Gower Goodtimers.
