Mary Sue (Kelley) Munsterman

Mary Sue Munsterman, 84 of Weston, MO, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014.

 

She was born on October 22, 1929 to Ermin Wesley and Neva Flora (Rubble) Kelley in Rushville, MO where she grew up and graduated from Dekalb High School. She then attended Northwest Missouri Teachers College in Maryville, MO.  Mary taught school in a rural one room school house near Dekalb. 

 

On September 30, 1949 she was united in marriage to Lyle Kenneth Munsterman.  After their marriage they lived in Dekalb and in 1955 moved near Weston where they farmed and made their home.  Her husband Lyle passed away on July 24, 2007.

 

Mary enjoyed, gardening, walking, crocheting and most of all took pride in raising her family.  For over 60 years Mary cooked Sunday dinners for family and friends.  

 

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers Alfred Kelley, Arvin Kelley, Donald Kelley; sister Maxine Palmer; twin great-grandchildren Brayden and Blair Bergstrom and great-granddaughter Angel Wright.

 

Mary is survived four sons, Kenny Munsterman and wife, Frances, Weston, MO, Roger Munsterman and wife, Brenda, Kansas City, MO, Bob Munsterman and wife, Jeannie, Weston, MO, and Larry Munsterman and wife, Marie, Edgerton, MO; two daughters, Susie Shughart and husband Gale, Oskaloosa, KS and Pamela Hamilton, Ridgely, MO; thirteen grandchildren, Kena, Michael Ladd, Michael, Misty, Kari, Kelley, Cody, Tyler, Sarah, Salena, Samantha, Trevor and Alex; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother Alvin Kelley; sisters, Ermadean Brown, Jean Hull, Janet Higgins and husband Jim; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

 

Celebration of Life:  6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8th at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, Weston, MO. with visitation following until 8:00 p.m.

Donations may be made to the church.
