MARY ELLEN MILLER

Mary Ellen Miller, 75, of Smithville, Mo., passed away, Saturday, November 25, 2006 at North Kansas City Hospital.

She was born on May 1, 1931 to Robert Christopher and Ida M. (Estes) Guy in Iatan, Mo. She attended Platte City High School and in 1949 graduated from Gower High School. Mary Ellen later attended Kansas City Secretarial School.

On June 3, 1951 she was united in marriage to Leon Miller. After their marriage they lived in the Smithville area and in 1964 they moved to Smithville where they made their home.

Mary Ellen worked at Riss & Company in North Kansas City and General Motors in Kansas City, Kansas.

She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Fidelity Rebekah Lodge #286, both in Smithville, the Northland Art League, TOPS, Carpenter Retirees and the Gower Goodtimer’s where she sang every Friday night.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Robert Guy and two infants, two sisters, Helen (Wills) Dutoit and one infant and a half-sister, Bertha Hayden.

She is survived by her husband, Leon, of the home, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 28th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
BURIAL: Second Creek Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.
VISITATION: 6:30-8:00 P.M., Monday, at the funeral home.
