Mary Elizabeth (Huntley) Halferty
Mary Elizabeth Halferty, 100, of Smithville, MO, passed away, Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at North Kansas City Hospital.
She was born on April 4, 1909 to Andrew Jackson and Mary Ann (Green) Huntley in Palo, Iowa. As a child, Mary grew up and attended school in Lawson, MO and Cedar Rapids, IA.
Mary farmed in the Smithville area and worked for Bishops Furniture Company in North Kansas City for many years. She loved gardening.
Mary was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl McKissack, Albert Sherwood, and Matt Halferty, her parents, brothers Ira, Mart, Clifford, and Obbie Huntley and sisters, Lydia Tester, Myrtle Schalipp.
She is survived by her sister, Ethel Clark, Smithville, MO; several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Mt. Muncie, Leavenworth, Kansas.
