MARY C. NETH
Mary C. Neth, 51, of Columbia, Mo., formerly of Smithville, Mo., passed away, Wednesday, September 14, 2005.
She was born on February 20, 1954 to C.O. and Shirley Neth in Smithville, Mo., where she grew up and in 1972 graduated from Smithville High School. Mary attended NWMSU in Maryville where she received her Bachelor Degree. She then attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison where she received her Masters and Doctorate Degree.
Mary was a professor at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia and American University as a visiting scholar at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. In 1995 she moved to Columbia where she was a professor of Women?s History at University of Missouri. Mary wrote and published the book, ?Preserving the Family Farm.?
She was a member of the Smithville United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Mary is survived by her mother, Shirley Neth, one brother, Mike Neth and wife, Shelia, two nephews, Zac and Marshall and wife, Audra, two great nieces, Olivia and Macy, all of Smithville, Mo., other relatives and many friends, especially Midge.
Graveside Service and Inurnment: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17th at Arley Cemetery, Kearney, Mo.
