Marty Highlander
Martin Ray Highlander, 72, of Platte City, MO passed away November 18, 2022.
He was born on November 2, 1950, to William Franklin and Mary (Martin) Highlander in Platte City, MO where grew up and graduated from Platte City High School. He later attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO where he received two bachelor’s degrees.
Marty was lifelong farmer and enjoyed bowling and golfing.
He was preceded in death by his parents William “Tank” and Mary “Shortie” Highlander and his brother Franklin “Skippy” Highlander.
Marty is survived by longtime girlfriend Dorothy Jenkins; several cousins and many friends.
Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23rd at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Weston, MO.

So saddened to hear of the news of Marty’s passing. Marty was a classmate of mine, playing many football and baseball games together in our younger days. Marty was also my roommate during our freshman year in college. Marty took me on my very first mushroom hunting adventure, an activity I still enjoy. We also bagged many quail on their farm. Prayers for his extended families and loved ones.
