Marlin Francis Schuster

Marlin Francis Schuster, 81, of Gower, MO, passed away September 9, 2012 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

He was born on May 26, 1931 to Floyd A. and Helen N. (Gibson) Schuster in St. Joseph, MO. He lived in the Gower area his entire life and attended school there, graduating from Gower High School in 1949.

Marlin served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954. He had been employed by Schuster Farms, Frazier Oil Co., and retired from E&M Ready Mix in 1996.

He was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Gower and had served as a deacon for 32 years, and was a former Sunday School Director. He was a former member and past president of the Gower Lions Club.

On May 2, 1954 he was united in marriage to Jane (Grisham) Schuster. They lived in the Gower area their entire life.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1931 and his father in 1969, and his grandparents, George and Ann Schuster in whose home he grew up, and brother Waldo Schuster.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Schuster of the home; one daughter, Jan Moore and her husband, Jeff; two grandchildren, Zachary Moore and Jaly Moore; sister-in-law, Shirley Schuster; brother-in-law, Rex Grisham and wife Anna Lou; two nephews and two nieces; two great-nieces; three great-nephews and one great-great-niece.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 12th at First Baptist Church in Gower.

Burial: Allen Cemetery, Gower.

Visitation: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Arrangements, Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
