Mark D. Hovey
Mark Dale Hovey, 59, of Kansas City, MO passed away Tuesday evening June 11th as the result of a hit and run accident in Kansas City, Mo.
Mark was born April 17,1960 in St. Joseph to Monty Hovey and Margery (Rupp) Grime.He was a graduate of Benton High School in St. Joseph. Mark worked as a certified mechanic for several years.
Mark is survived by his sons, Cameron, Destry, Straun and Beau Hovey. Two daughters, Caitlin and Erica Hovey. His brothers Eric Hovey and Brett and Shawn Grime; a sister Juli Messick also his mother Margery Grime. Mark had a special bond with his grandchildren who loved and adored their "Old Man".
He was preceded in death by his sister, Pam, father Monty Hovey, step-father Louis Grime and his grandmother Julia Rupp.
Cremation will be followed by a memorial at a later date.

We had some great times in high school. Mark was my closest friend during some pretty hard times in our lives. After graduating we went our separate ways and took different paths in life. I’m sorry we didn’t get to reconnect all these years. I am so sorry for your family’s loss.
