Marjorie A. (Beckwith) Burnham
Marjorie A. Burnham, 90, of Gower, MO, formerly of Fairport, MO passed away, Sunday, June 5, 2011.
She was born on February 24, 1921 to Herbert Homer and Caroline Colen (Assel) Beckwith in Santa Rosa, Missouri. Marjorie graduated from Weatherby High School and attended Chillicothe Business College.
On May 19, 1962 she was united in marriage to John B. Burnham. After their marriage they lived in Fairport where they made their home. In 1999 they moved to Gower. Her husband, John, passed away, June 18, 2009.
Marjorie was a substitute Post Master of Weatherby Post Office for five years, and was Post Master of Fairport Community Post Office for 34 years.
Marjorie was a member of the Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church in Gower. She was also a former member of Beta Sigma Phi.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Paul Beckwith.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Dr. Robert Drew and wife, Sheila, Prescott, AZ; former daughter-in-law, Linda Drew, Bethany, MO; three granddaughters, Heather Giles and husband, Randy, Holly Brownfield and husband, Tim, and Heidi Lenon and husband, Levi; four great-grandsons, Owen and Ian Giles, and Ethan and Brody Brownfield; one great-granddaughter, Adalyn Lenon; sister-in-law, Charlene Lincoln and husband, Charles; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
Visitation: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Inurnment: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11th at the Fairport Cemetery.
Donations may be made to Mt. Moriah Methodist Church, the Dream Factory, Three Rivers Hospice.
