Marguerite Jones
Evelyn Marguerite Jones, 94, of Smithville, MO passed away August 11, 2022.
She was born on February 2, 1928, to Walter A. and Loy Eden (Kelley) Guy in Brighton, Colorado where she grew up and graduated from Brighton High School.
On January 11, 1948, she was united in marriage to Arthur Warren Jones. After their marriage they lived in Platte County where they made their home. Warren passed away on February 13, 1996. In 2006, Marguerite moved to Smithville.
Marguerite owned Hauber-Jones Sundries in Parkville for several years and later retired from O.H. Gerry Optical after 20+ years. She was an avid bowler and reader and enjoyed quilting, cooking and playing cards with family. Marguerite loved having the “Granny Store” for her great-grandchildren and most of all she loved being with her family. She was a wonderful mom, grandma, and granny who will be missed dearly.
She was a member of the Emmanuel Bible Church and the Town and Country Quilters Guild.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband Warren; her parents Walter and Loy Guy; brothers Elwin Guy and Allen Guy; infant sister and daughter Doris Kincaid.
She is survived by her children Connie Hevalow and husband Tom, Vickie Hoy and husband Steve, Walter Jones, and Anita Fancsali and husband Jeff; grandchildren Lori, Bill, Debbie, Billy Wayne, Heather, Clint, Mindy, Brandi, Megan, Sean, Brad, Rachel, and Michael; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister Viola Lane; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation: 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday, August 15th with Funeral Service: at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 15th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville, MO.
Burial: Hampton Cemetery, Kansas City, MO

Prayers to all of you . She was one of a kind! Gave me my first computer when we started our small engine repair business . She and Warren would come and play marbles with us. Eventually warren made me a board of my own . Genuine jewel! She will be missed. Love to you Vickie and family.

She was my granny, I called her several times and loved to talk to her about her childhood, she got to meet my daughter Genesis Jones. And I am so thankful for that I miss u granny so so much I’m so glad I got to hear all of your amazing stories
