Marcena Mae Johnson

Marcena Mae Johnson, 81, of Enid, OK, formerly of Kansas City and Smithville, passed away, Friday, May 18, 2007 in Enid, OK.

She was born on January 18, 1926 to Dave and Marie (Wedel) Unruh near Goltry, Oklahoma, and she graduated from Helena High School in 1945.

 

On December 25, 1945 she was united in marriage to Allen Eugene Johnson. After their marriage they lived in Meno, OK, and in 1958 they moved to Kansas City where they were very involved with the Gospel Missionary Union. They later moved to Smithville where they also farmed. In 1996 they retired to Golden Oaks Village in Enid, OK. Her husband, Allen, passed away, September 15, 2003.

 

Marcena was a member, Sunday School Teacher, and filled in as pianist and organist at Mt. Olivet Christian Church. She was also a member of the Victory Bible Church in Enid, OK.

 

Marcena was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Hazel Pekrul.

 

She is survived by son, Darrel Johnson and wife, Debbie; daughters, Marlene Blanton and husband, Erwin, Carol Goad and husband, Tom, LaVonda Anderson and husband, Myron; three brothers, Cecil, Vernon, and Wayne; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services were held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 25th at the Mt. Olivet Christian Church in Smithville. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
