Luray (Davis) House

 

Luray House, 68, of Gower, MO passed away, February 25, 2011.

She was born on October 21, 1942 to Raymond and Louise V. (Ottinger) Davis in Frazier, MO where she grew up. Luray graduated from Gower High School in 1960. She then attended Gard’s Business School in St. Joseph.

On October 23, 1960 she was united in marriage to Darrel L. House. After their marriage they made their home in Gower.

Luray was a bookkeeper and secretary for several companies in St. Joseph. She was a member of the Gower Christian Church, and the Chat and Nibble Club. Luray was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Luray is survived by her husband, Darrel; two daughters, Cynthia Benz and husband, Rich, Stephanie Phipps and husband, Andy; four grandchildren, Tabatha Phipps, Jacob Phipps, Amanda Benz and Kiera Benz; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Monday February 28th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.

Burial: Allen Cemetery, Gower, MO

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gower Christian Church or American Lung Association.
