Luella Mae (Clayton) Swett
Luella M. Swett, 78 of Savannah, MO, passed away, Sunday, September 30, 2012 at her home.
She was born on March 18, 1934 to Clifford Raymond and Margarete Marie (Copple) Clayton near Agency, MO where she attended school and grew up.
On August 10, 1951 she was united in marriage to Carl Henry Swett. After their marriage they lived in Union Star, Maysville, Agency, Gower and Easton. In 1976 they moved to Savannah where they made their home.
Luella worked as a waitress in St. Joseph, Nomo Lights in St. Joseph, Country Kitchen in Elwood, KS, Schuster Farms in Gower. Luella was a cook for over 22 years at Carriage Square Nursing Home in St. Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bennie Clayton and sister, Roberta Shanks.
Luella is survived by her husband, Carl of home; children, Carl E. Swett, Yoder, CO, Robert Swett, Moberly, MO, John Paul Swett, South Missouri, James Swett, Savannah, MO, Rita Diane Lale, Steger, IL, Debbie Boydston, Smithville, MO, and Donna Goodrich, Savannah, MO; grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Lietha Marshall, Canoe,AL; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 5th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Mt. Auburn Cemetery, St. Joseph.
