LILY M. ALLISON
Lily May Allison, 81, of Gower, MO passed away Tuesday July 11, 2006 at the Gower Convalescent Center.
She was born on December 19, 1924 to Maurice Charles and Magdalene (DeSchepper) DeGhelder in Kansas City, MO where she grew up and graduated from North East High School.
On October 19, 1944 she was united in marriage to Jack Tom Allison. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City, later moving to the Gower area where they made their home. Jack preceded her in death on January 17, 1973.
Lily worked for many years for Montgomery Wards in Kansas City. Lily and Jack then owned and operated Allison’s Caf? in Gower for many years. She later worked as a cook for many places.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the church Altar Society in Easton, MO. Lily enjoyed reading and loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.
Lily was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law, Marietta Allison, sisters, Emily Colliyer and Mary Fordyce, and brother, William DeGhelder.
She is survived by her son, Tom Allison, Gower, one grandson, Chad Allison and wife, Lisa, Gower, two granddaughters, Stacy Grayson and husband Jason, Kansas City, MO, and Kim Bentz and husband, Andy, St. Joseph, MO, three great-grandchildren, Justin, Kent and Taylor, one sister, Julia Kahman, California, one brother, Maurice DeGhelder, Kansas City, MO, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday July 14th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower
Burial: Allen Cemetery, Gower
Rosary 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with visitation following until 8:00 p.m.
