LILLIAN M. GIDDENS
Lillian M. Giddens, 93, of Agency, Mo., passed away, Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at her home.
She was born on November 26, 1911 to Robert Mitchell and Francis Tennessee (Corn) Boyd in Farmersville, Texas. At age 12 the family moved to Frazier, and in 1930 Lillian graduated from Gower High School.
On August 9, 1933 she was united in marriage to Charles Henry Giddens. After their marriage they lived in Frazier where they made their home. Her husband, Charles, passed away, May 23, 1974.
Lillian was a lifelong member of the Frazier Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Young Adults for 40 years, and was one of the founding organizers of Vacation Bible School. Lillian was a member of the #5 Extension Club, and a 4-H Leader. She also served as an Ombudsman at the Gower Convalescent Center for 20 years.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Claude, Clyde, Homer, George, and Alvin Boyd, three sisters, Tressa Barton, Catherine Tuck, and Irene Boyd.
Lillian is survived by one son, Curtis Giddens and wife, Erma, Agency, Mo., three granddaughters, Lisa Giddens, Amherst, Mass., Susan Giddens and husband, Jason Perry, Gower, Mo., and Nancy Giddens, Jefferson City, Mo., great-grandson, Samuel Wyeth Giddens Perry, and in-home caregiver and friend, Flora Stump, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12th at the Frazier Baptist Church, Frazier, Mo.
Burial: Frazier Cemetery
Visitation: 6:30-9:00 p.m. Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Frazier Baptist Church or the Frazier Cemetery.
