LETA M. YATES
Leta Mae Yates, 88, of Plattsburg, Mo., formerly of Nashua, Mo., passed away, Friday, July 22, 2005.
She was born on February 11, 1917 to Sylvanus and Ida Belle (Stephenson) Wakeman near Columbus, Mo., and later moved to Odessa, Mo., where she graduated from high school. Leta then attended Cosmetology School and worked as a beautician in Odessa and Kansas City, Mo.
On September 9, 1943 she was united in marriage to Joshua Norwood Yates. After their marriage they lived in Marshall, Mo., Enid, Oklahoma, and in 1954 they returned to the Kansas City area. Her husband, Joshua, preceded her in death on July 29, 1963.
Leta worked at Ronnie?s Beauty Salon in North Kansas City, was a receptionist at Paris I Beauty Salon in Gladstone and J.C. Penney?s Salon at Metro North Mall for 25 years, retiring in 2002.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Nashua.
Leta was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by one daughter, Sara M. Willdermood and husband, Richard, Plattsburg, Mo., two grandchildren, Jason Willdermood and wife, Cathy, Holt, Mo., and Julie McKeague and husband, Lee, Kansas City, Mo., and six great-grandchildren, Gillian, Alden, Jesse, Joshua, Michael, and Ella Grace, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26th at the First Baptist Church of Nashua, 11408 N. Main St. Kansas City, Mo. 64155-1126.
Burial: White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Gladstone, Mo.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nashua First Baptist Church or Oakridge of Plattsburg.
