LeRoy “Lee” Harvey
LeRoy “Lee” Harvey, 87, of Flemington, MO passed away April 5, 2017.
He was born on May 18, 1929 to Ira and Doris (Snyder) Harvey in Denver, CO where he grew up. Lee then served his country in the US Army during WWII and the Korean War and was a part of the US Constabulary Force during the occupation of Germany. He retired after over 20 years of service. Lee then worked in industrial maintenance at Current Publishing, retiring to the Missouri Ozarks.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters and his beloved son Dennis Harvey.
Lee is survived by his wife of 32 years, Joy Harvey; children Dan Ness and wife Bobbi, Alice Swenson and husband Wendell, David Ness, Dennis Ness and wife Tina, Mark Ness and wife Becky, Susan Downing, and Carol Griffith; grandchildren Ben, Jennifer, Christopher, Jeremy, Holly, Ryan, Meredith, Chuck, Adam, Trent, Jenna, Travis, Cord, Joshua, Jacob, and Samantha; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville
Burial with Military Honors: 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11th at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS
Donations to Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or DAV
