LeRoy Earl Jensen

LeRoy Earl Jensen, 81, of Gower, MO, passed away Friday, June 1, 2007 at his home.

He was born on January 1, 1926 to Ferdie and Georgie (Fronce) Jensen in Olsberg, KS where he grew up and attended school. LeRoy then served his country in the US Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge he returned to Kansas.

On June 24, 1947 he was united in marriage to Elaine Harriet Valentine. After their marriage they lived in Topeka, KS until 1962 when they moved to Sedalia, MO. In 1970 they moved to Gower where they made their home. His wife, Elaine passed away on December 4, 1993.

LeRoy worked for Firestone Tires in Topeka, KS and Sedalia, MO and later for Goodyear Tire in Kansas City, MO.

He was a member of the Gower American Legion Post #393.

LeRoy was also preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Jerry, Carrol, Glenn, and Lloyd; and three sisters, Lucille Jensen, Leona Hanson and Edith Stare.

He is survived by son, Ron Jensen and wife, Rita, and daughter, Lisa May and husband Gerry all of Gower; five grandchildren, Andi Carrel and husband, Tyler, Ashley Quick and husband Josh, Ryan Everett and wife, Mandy, Emily Brown and husband, Kevin and Serena May; three great-grandchildren, Riley, Ella and Kennady; two brothers, Harold Jensen and Leo Jensen; four sisters, Kate Register, Elsie Baumes, Doris Sutherland and Mary Ann Sando, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service with Military Honors: 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 4^th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
