Leroy Blankenship, 79 of Edgerton, MO, went home to his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, February 5, 2014.

 

He was born on December 31, 1934 to Roy Lee and Mattie Mae (Wilson) Blankenship near Trimble, MO.  Leroy grew up near Edgerton and graduated from North Platte High School.

 

On January 11, 1957 he was united in marriage to Darlene Masoner.  After their marriage they lived in Edgerton where they made their home.

 

Leroy worked for TWA, retiring after 29 years.  After his retirement he spent summers working for Paradise Pointe Golf Course. 

  

He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.  Leroy was also a member of the Edgerton Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, and Order of Eastern Star and Shriner’s.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

 

Leroy is survived by his wife, Darlene of 57 years; daughter, Wendy Shipley and husband Mike; son, Spencer Blankenship and wife Lori; grandsons, Ryan (Jennifer) Ralston, Jared (Jennifer) Blankenship, Cody (Kortnee) Blankenship, and Jacob (Ashlee) Blankenship; ten great-grandchildren, Rayce, Rex, Karrigan, Kendall, Karson, Konner, Addison, Bella, Ava, and Mattie Mae; sister, Betty Jacobson and husband Jon; other relatives and many friends.

  

Masonic Service:   2:00 p.m.  Visitation: 2:30- 3:30 p.m.  Memorial Service:  3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 9th at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Edgerton, MO.

 

Arrangements Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton.

 

Donations may be made to the church or Moila Shriner’s.
