Leo Wesley Petersen
Leo Wesley Peterson, 95, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012.
He was born on January 18, 1917 to Theodore and Edith May (Nelson) Peterson in Kansas City, MO and grew up in the Hampton Community. He attended Hampton Grade School and Platte City High School.
On February 8, 1941 he was united in marriage to Wilma Naydean Keefhaver. After their marriage they lived in California during WWII where he was a tool and die maker Consolidated Aircraft. They then returned to Platte County where they farmed and made their home. Wilma passed away on March 1, 1992.
Lee was also preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Michael Dean Peterson; sister, Alma Lawless; and brothers, Melvin Peterson, Guy Peterson and Charley Peterson.
He is survived by son, Monte Peterson and wife Pat; daughter, Janet Arnold and husband Kevin; grandchildren, Monteca Tillery and husband Robbie, Miles Arnold, Parker Arnold and Riley Arnold; step-grandchildren, Ronnie Thurman and wife Stephanie, Laci Day and husband Mike, and Kathy Plumer and husband Brent; nine step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31st at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial: Second Creek Cemetery, Kansas City, MO
