Leo Hill
Leo Hill, 84, of Camden Point, MO, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010 at his home.
He was born on July 21, 1926 to James William and Pearl Francis (Ashpaugh) Hill in rural Weston, MO. Leo then served his country in the US Army during WWII.
Leo retired from General Motors in 1981. He also raised tobacco from 1947 to 1987 and dug graves for several cemeteries since 1967.
In 1944 he was united in marriage to Dorris Norris, she passed away in 1966. On August 13, 1967 he was united in marriage to Dorothy VonDemfange. After their marriage they lived in rural Camden Point where they made their home.
Leo was a member of the Camden Point Christian Church.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry Hill; brothers, Perry, Ralph, James and sisters, Margaret Cox, Betty Caughron and Lena Bowlin.
Leo is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sons, Richard Hill, Camden Point, Ryan Hill and wife, Brenda, Wingate, NC; daughter, Martha Schonherr and husband, George, Leavenworth, KS; grandchildren, Andy, Travis and Heather; sisters, Norma Coons and husband, Floyd, Platte City, MO, Shirley Abernathy, McLouth, KS, Janice Boydston and husband, Jarbie, Dearborn, MO; brothers, Clarence Hill Springfield, MO, Eugene Hill and wife, Marie, Easton, KS, Billy Joe Hill and wife, Pauline, Dearborn, MO and Ed Hill and wife, Sharon, Kansas City, MO; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 8th at the Camden Point Christian Church
Burial with Military Honors: Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Weston, MO
Visitation: 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the church.
