Len Murray
Leonard John Murray passed away on September 13, 2025. He was born in 1948 in Los Angeles CA, oldest of four children to William and Nancy Murray. He graduated from California high school in Whittier, CA.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army and sent to Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1969. Leonard was very proud of his time in the military as a helicopter mechanic. He also really enjoyed his motorcycle and classic truck.
Leonard met and married Shelda Grimsley in 1971 in Klamath Falls OR. Married for 50 years until her death in 2022. He was a father to 3 children, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. Len was always very proud of his kids and grandkids.
He worked as a printing press operator for his career until he retired. After retirement he worked with the Census Bureau.
Leonard attended liberty Baptist Church in Irvine CA, after his move to Missouri he attended Gower First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Nancy Murray, his brother Dennis Murray and his wife Shelda Murray.
Leonard is survived by his siblings, Debbie and Dennis Clyde and Michael and Terry Murray; his children Lynell and Erik Lynn, Shane Murray, Jason Murray and Oui Darajorn; his grandchildren Sarah and Paul Kuzma, Jessica and David Verduzco, Bayley Murray, Aiden Murray and Jacqui Murray; and his great grandchildren Jayden and Adrian Verduzco, Lucas Kuzma and Gloria Alligaier.
Shelda Murray
Shelda Marie Murray passed away on January 15, 2022. She was born in 1953 in Klamath Falls, OR to Cage and Theo Grimsley and went to Klamath Falls high school.
She worked at Rancho San Jaquin junior high school in Irvine, CA. Shelda returned to school to become a phlebotomist, and worked at Kaiser Permanente in Oregon. She took great pride in being able to serve her patients in the hospital. She also really enjoyed shopping and collecting the nic nacs in her travels.
Shelda met and married Leonard Murray in 1971, in Klamath Falls, OR. They were married for 50 years until her death in 2022. She was a mother to 3 children, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. She was always very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She attended liberty Baptist Church with her husband in Irvine, CA.
Shelda was preceded in death by her parents Cage and Theo Grimsley and her brother Wade Grimsley.
She is survived by her sister Denelda Grimsley; her children Lynell and Erik Lynn, Shane Murray, Jason Murray and Oui Darajorn; her grandchildren Sarah and Paul Kuzma, Jessica and David Verduzco, Bayley Murray and Aiden Murray, Jacqui Murray; her great grandchildren Jayden and Adrian Verduzco, Lucas Kuzma, Gloria Alligaier; along with many nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 10th at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.
