Lee Earl Babbitt
Lee Earl Babbitt, 80, of Edgerton, MO passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011.
He was born on May 22, 1930 to Edgar Hugh and Ella Mae (Toliver) Babbitt in Climax Springs, MO where he grew up. In 1947, Lee graduated as Valedictorian from Climax Springs High School. He then served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Kansas City, MO.
On February 26, 1956 he was united in marriage to Evelyn Jane Kindle. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City, MO and in 1961 they moved to Edgerton, MO where they made their home.
Lee was a local delivery driver for Sunshine Biscuit Company in Kansas City. His passion was remolding and restoring homes in Platte County.
He was a member of the Paradise Baptist where served as a deacon for several years. Lee was also a member of the Gower Goodtimers, the Edgerton Fire Department, and was an Edgerton Little League baseball coach.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Babbitt .
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; three sons, Jim Babbitt, Mike Babbitt and wife, Jayne and Terry Babbitt and fiancé, Jolene; fourteen grandchildren, Justin, Aaron, Jared, Annie, Carla, Ben, Bryant, Preston, Jacob, Deborah, Caleb, Jess, Brianna, and Justin; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Ross Babbitt and wife, Vicki; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service with Military Honors: 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11th at the Paradise Baptist Church with visitation following until 9:00 p.m.
Private family burial at Reed Cemetery, Trimble, MO.
