Laura Lee (Foster) West
Laura Lee Foster West, age 87, of Edgerton, MO, died peacefully at Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care House in Kansas City, MO on Friday, February 29, 2008.
She was born June 24, 1920, in Dearborn, Missouri to the late Helen and Earl Foster. She graduated from Dearborn High School in 1938 where she loved to play basketball. In 1941, Laura Lee Foster married Clarence West and they lived and farmed near Dearborn, Missouri for several years. In 1956, Clarence and Laura Lee purchased the West family farm where they lived until 2003.
Laura Lee loved to can vegetables, garden and spend time with her family and friends. More than anything, she loved her 66 years with Clarence as well as cooking and loving her kids! She gave inspiration to many and shared anything she had with perfect strangers. Everyone who knew Laura Lee knew that she loved roses.
Laura Lee was a member of the Dearborn Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, her parents, brothers Irvin and Earl Foster, Jr., and sister Virginia Ralston.
Laura Lee is survived by her son and his partner, Terry Lee West and Sharon Evans of Cameron; daughter and husband, Micky and W.C Pence, of Smithville; and daughter; Clareece West, Lenexa, KS; five grandchildren, Trini Sirmans, Dearborn; Dawn Krouse Sacramento, CA; Brandon Mingee, Smithville; Brett Mingee, Chandler, AZ; Sarah Pence, Smithville; three great-granddaughters, Alexzandria Sirmans and Cessaly Sirmans, Dearborn; and Lexi Krouse, Sacramento, CA., numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Service: 2:00 P.M., Sunday, March 3rd at the Dearborn Christian Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice& Palliative Care House.
