Laura Ann (Manuel) Yates

Laura Ann (Manuel) Yates, 87, of Smithville, MO passed away, Saturday, May 30, 2015.

She was born on February 22, 1928 to James Elbert and Mabel (Phillips) Manuel in Smithville, MO. Ann grew up in Smithville and graduated from Smithville High School in 1948.

On August 5, 1949 she was united in marriage to Edward Charles â??Buddyâ? Yates, Jr. After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home. Her husband, Buddy, passed away April 15, 2007.

Ann worked for Miller-Stauch Construction. She also worked at Overhead Door for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and bird watching. Ann loved being with her family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Kivett and husband Tom, Independence, Patti Hunt and husband Arnold, Connie Kimsey and husband Kyle, all of Smithville; six grandchildren, Brent Kivett and wife Angela, Ryan Kivett and wife Jessica, Adam Hunt and wife Valerie, Eric Hunt and fiancé Mary Diaz, Nancy Evans and husband Matthew and Laura Berkebile and husband Kurt; twelve great-grandchildren Logan Kivett, Ramona Kivett, Caleb Kivett, Abram Hunt, Ethan Hunt, Tyler Hunt, Eliana Brannlund, Emyleah Brannlund, Elexia Hunt, Emmett Hunt, Eli Evans and Gage Evans; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial: Smithville Memorial Cemetery.
