Larry Sickman

Lawrence Joseph Sickman, II 53, of Platte County, MO passed away December 2, 2021.

He was born on March 28, 1968, to Lawrence Joseph and Vivian Rose (Hatch) Sickman in Kansas City, MO. Larry grew up in Parkville, MO and graduated from Park Hill High School. 

 Larry owned and operated Larry Sickman Enterprises, excavating and trucking company. He was active in the Boy Scouts with his son Ethan and helped him achieve his rank of Eagle Scout.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Vivian Sickman; his sister Theresa Fleming; his brother Garrison Sickman; his nephews Luke Sickman and Curtis Sickan and his niece Wendy Sickman.

Larry is survived by his son Ethan Sickman; brothers and sisters Michael (Janice) Sickman, Joseph (Leslie) Weaver, Daniel (Tami) Weaver, Cheryl (Gregg) Freedberg. Linda (Jim) Summers; sister-in-law Sheila Sickman; brother-in-law Gary Fleming; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

 Rosary: 10:00 a.m. with Visitation following until 12:00 p.m. (noon) Saturday, December 11th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville

    I was so sorry to learn of Larry’s untimely passing. He had a big heart and would go out of his way to lend a hand any time he was asked. During our time working together as Scout leaders, he was instrumental in helping many, many young men become Eagle Scouts, a great legacy that will certainly echo down through the years.
