Larry Branstuder

Larry Branstuder, 73, of Smithville, MO passed away, February 16, 2025.

He was born on July 9, 1951 to George William and Helen Louise (Baker) Branstuder in Kansas City, MO. Larry grew up in Gower where he attended school.

He was united in marriage to Idona Tate. After their marriage they lived in Gower, Plattsburg and later moved to Smithville where they made their home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Idona, on November 7, 2011.

Larry worked for Kindred Chevrolet in Smithville for many years. After his retirement he spent time working on small engines for friends and family. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and hunting.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and sister Nancy Shalvay.

Larry is survived by his children, Chris (Kristie) Barnhill, Lori Ackerman, Jason Barnhill, Shay Branstuder (Sonja), and Kari Davis (Mike); grandchildren, Shane, Courtney, Colby, Brysen, Blake, Tara, Becky, Kylie, Brooke and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Ollie, Oakley, Hudson, Jameson, Ryker, Levi, Amelia, and Asher; brother, Bill (Joyce) Branstuder; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

    so very sorry to hear of Larry’s passing he and I were very good friends hadn’t seen him for years we worked at the Phillips 66 gas station in Plattsburgh when we were young kids we had so much fun together I have a lot of good stories about he and I working there I always wanted to reconnect with him over the years but it’s just like everything else you always wait until it’s too late
