In Remembrance Of
Kimberly Jane (McGary) Cook
Mrs. Kimberly Jane Cook, 52, wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, went to be with her first love, Jesus Christ on July 5, 2012, shortly after 2:00 pm.
Kim was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 9, 1960, to Rosemary and Nelson McGary. She graduated from Rock Bridge High School, in Columbia, MO, in 1978, and spent one year at Mizzou before she realized that one year was all God had for her there. While at Mizzou, she met her best friend, Randy Cook, whom she married on June 7, 1980. Kim and Randy lived in Joplin, MO, and Omaha, NE, for a few years before making their home in Kansas City, Missouri.
Kim was the most selfless and compassionate person in this world. She touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with. She poured her heart and her life into her family, her friends, her job and most importantly her relationship with Jesus Christ.
Kim was an accountant for Cruise Holidays in Kansas City, Missouri. She often said it was the best job she ever had. She was a member of The River for the last 24 years.
Kim is survived by her husband, Randy; five children, Whitney and Adam Smiarowski, Courtney and Matthew Edwards, and Brittney Cook; one grandson, Easton Smiarowski; two siblings, Deatra McGary and Terry McGary; two sister-in-laws, Jeanetta Diles and Linda McGary; one brother-in-law, Jim Diles; two nieces, Shannan (Diles) Wren & family and Eryn (McGary) Swanson & family; one nephew, Joshua McGary & family; aunts and uncles, Donna Hostetter, Ron Allison, Bob and Ferrell Hults.
