Kenneth Winkinhofer

Kenneth Winkinhofer, 59, of Smithville, MO passed away, Wednesday, January 18, 2012.

He was born on December 29, 1952 to George and Inez (Ludecke) Winkinhofer in Kansas City, MO. He grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Central High School in 1971. Ken then served his country in the U.S. Army.

On October 23, 1976 he was united in marriage to Sherry May Sitzman. After their marriage they lived in Parkville. They have resided in Smithville for the last 20 years, where they raised their daughter, Elizabeth. Ken and Sherry were also proud parents of twelve international exchange kids.

He was a proud postal worker for 35 years. Ken thoroughly enjoyed driving his ’29 Tudor Model A and was a member of the Model A Ford Club of America, and the Northwest Missouri Ford Model A Club. He was an avid model train nut, and was a member of various train clubs through the years. He also enjoyed tracing family history and traveling.

Ken was preceded in death by his father, George and mother-in-law, Becky Sitzman.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry, of the home; daughter, Elizabeth; twelve international children, Angela, Sebastian, Annick, Johannes, Claudia, Nils, Kuanysh, DiDi, Roland, Tanya, Marco, and Anna; mother, Inez King; father-in-law, Bob Sitzman; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21st at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
