Kenneth J. Brownlee

Kenneth Brownlee, 87, of Smithville, MO passed away, Saturday,
October 24, 2015.

 

He was born on December 28, 1927 to Kenneth W. and
Fern Marie (Ward) Brownlee in Troy, Kansas. 
Kenneth grew up in Troy where he attended school. 

 

On January 22, 1945 he was united in marriage to
Evelyn Ashworth.  After their marriage
they lived in Troy, Kansas and in 1959 they moved to Smithville where they made
their home and raised their family.  His
wife, Evelyn, passed away January 18, 2011.

 

Kenneth was an electrician for over 45 years, and was
a member of IBEW Local #124.  After
retirement, Kenneth enjoyed spending his time at Kenny�s Old Ford�s restoring
classic cars.

 

He was a member of First Christian Church in Smithville.

 

Kenneth was also preceded in death by his parents;
daughter, Betty Jo; and brother, Alan Brownlee.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Pigg and husband
Elbert, Smithville; son, Jeff Brownlee, Independence, MO; eight grandchildren,
Judy and husband Jim, Terry and wife Dawnia, Trevor, Tara and husband Jimmy,
Jeremy and wife Chandra, Jenna Beth, Amy and husband Tim, and Allen and
Rachelle; twenty-two great-grandchildren; sister, Patty Hennis; brother Bob
Brownlee and wife Dorothy; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and
many friends.

 

Funeral Services:  11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 28th
at the First Christian Church in Smithville with visitation from 10:00-11:00
a.m. prior to the service at the church.

Burial: 
Smithville Memorial Cemetery.

Arrangements, Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.

 

Donations may be made to the First Christian Church.

    I am Kenneth’s first cousin. Our mothers, Fern and Mary Jane Ward were sisters. Although we did not know each other well I am sorry to hear of his death. May he rest in peace

We grew up next to the Brownlee’s.and I always remember  The antique cars , loved when he would drive down the LONG driveway and give us a little honk from his Model T.. His love of his family Was obvious  and always a smile., for  everyonee he would  meet.What a great man . Prayers of comfort to the family for
