Kelly Spiers

Kelly Ray Spiers, 75, of Edgerton, MO passed away on February 10, 2025.

He was born on June 17, 1949 to Paul Amos and Euna Mae (Smith) Spiers in Edgerton, MO. Kelly grew up in Edgerton and graduated from North Platte High School.

On February 10, 1967 he was united in marriage to Deborah Joyce Atkins and they were together for 57 years. After their marriage they lived in Edgerton where they made their home.

Kelly worked for the City of Edgerton as the utilities director. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering, bartering, and going to Disney World.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, brothers, Paul J. Spiers, Jim E. Spiers and Donald E. Spiers; sisters, Mary Lanham, Ella Hackett, and Ruth Nelson.

Kelly is survived by his wife, Deborah; daughter, Renee Spiers (Harold), son David (Helen) Spiers, and Eric Spiers; grandchildren, Brittany (Jesse) Green, Dalton (Teakay) Flanery, Roman Spiers, Victoria Spiers, and Brianna (Eli) Wright; great-grandchildren, Payton, William, Matthias, and Ace; sisters, Darlene Amos, Donna (Clinton) Mullendore, and Sharon (Raymond) Crowder; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Service: 6:30 p.m. Monday, February 17th at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton, MO with visitation from 5:00-6:30 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

    Hard working, trust worthy and honest. These are traits of the entire Spiers family. As a kid, I spent many a fun day at the Spiers family home. Kelly’s mom included me in many a family meal. Kelly was a good man and will be missed.
