KATHRYN R. SMITH

Kathryn R. Smith, 76, of St. Joseph, Mo., passed away, Friday, October 21, 2005.

She was born on December 7, 1928 to Cleo Glen and Strausie Janette (Gregory) Scott near King City, Missouri. As a child the family moved to St. Joseph where she attended Edison Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High and graduated from Central High School. Kathryn then attended Gard College in St. Joseph and later worked as office manager for Monumental Life Insurance Company in St. Joseph.

On February 24, 1950 she was united in marriage to Leonard Smith. After their marriage they lived in St. Joseph where they made their home.

Kathryn was a member of the Faith United Church in St. Joseph and Student Fortnightly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Linda Smith, son, James L. Smith, granddaughter, April Reva Evans, and sister, Lena Mae ?Lynne? Pifer.

Kathryn is survived by her husband, Leonard, of the home, daughter and son-in-law, Jan and William Evans, Gower, Mo., daughter-in-law, Lisa Smith, St. Joseph, Mo., three grandchildren, Christine Haley and husband, Ben, Ft. Worth, Tx., Paul Evans and fianc?, Laura Schwarz, Gower, Mo., Michael J. Smith, St. Joseph, Mo., and brother, Gregory E. Scott and wife, Shirley, St. Joseph, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 24th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower, Mo.
Burial: Allen Cemetery, Gower.
Visitation: 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Gower.
