Kathleen “Kay” Lilian Daniel
Kathleen “Kay” Lilian Daniel, 82, of Edgerton, MO, passed away, Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at her daughter’s home in Riverside, MO.
She was born on March 22, 1925 to Charles and Frances Lena (Ansdell) Maloney in London, England where she grew up and later met her husband.
On June 10, 1944 she was united in marriage to Howard Lee Daniel. After their marriage they moved to Edgerton where they made their home. Her husband, Howard, passed away, September 28, 1985.
Kay was the librarian for the Mid Continent Library in Edgerton for many years, retiring in 1991.
She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and the Daniel Shafer American Legion Auxiliary both in Edgerton. Kay was also awarded the Citizen of the Year in Edgerton in 1983.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Ron Maloney.
Kathleen is survived by one daughter, Ronnie Rollins and husband, Ron; three sons, Lee Daniel and wife, Marie, Gary Daniel and wife, Ronda, and Bill Daniel; ten grandchildren, Sherri, Alan, Michelle, Aaron, Preston, Traci, Nathan, Tyler, Douglas and Clayton; eight great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, one step great-great-granddaughter; brother, Victor Maloney and wife, Marion, Manchester, England; three nieces, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1st at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton, with visitation 1:00 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday
Burial: Reed Cemetery east of Edgerton.
