Karen Nelson
Karen Nelson, 65, of Braymer, MO formerly of Edgerton, MO and Orrick, MO passed away, Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
She was born on January 4, 1951 to Albert Lee and Virginia Dale (Wilborn) Huffman in Fayette, MO. Karen grew up in Kansas City, KS where she attended school.
Karen was married to Don Hale, they lived in Edgerton and had four children. In 1989 she was united in marriage to Larry Nelson. After their marriage they lived in Orrick, MO where they made their home. Her husband, Larry, preceded her in death in 2012. Karen later moved to Braymer.
Karen worked several places in the area, but especially enjoyed working with special needs patients.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Don Hayward Hale, infant grandson, Cory Vincent Morgan, brother, Gary Huffman, sister, Jodi Wells, and nieces, Teresa Anderson and Danna Land.
She is survived by her children, Donald Hale, Shelly Morgan, and Shauna Hale; grandchildren, Vincent Morgan, Cody Morgan, Kelsie Miller, Daniel Hendicks, and Eric Morgan; step-children, Rex Nelson, Doug Nelson, Jason Nelson, Dana Wrisinger, and Dezara Nelson; several step-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Sue), Thomas (Linda), Johnny, James (Patrick), Bruce, Earl (Teresa), Garland (Michelle), and Marlin (Ruth) Huffman; sisters, Sharon Lee, Marsha (Danny) Hendricks; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with visitation one hour prior to the service.
