Karen Elizabeth Herpel

Karen Elizabeth Herpel 73, of Hemple, MO passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Mosaic Hospital in St. Joseph, MO.

She was born on May 13, 1943 to George and Dorothy Nadine (Johnson) Bower in Hemple, MO where she grew up and in 1961 graduated from Gower High School. 

On November 3, 1961, she was united in marriage to Donald Lee Herpel.  After their marriage they lived in Hemple where they made their home.  Her husband Don passed away on August 14, 2016. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents and son Donald L. Herpel, Jr.

Karen is survived by son John Herpel and wife Michele; grandsons Brent and Cody Herpel all of Hemple, MO; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Private family services will be held later.
